Two men arrested in robbery, beating of elderly woman

LAS VEGAS (KSNV – UPDATE: Las Vegas Metro police have arrested two men suspected of robbing and 85-year-old-woman in a parking lot near the area of Rainbow and Spring Valley in Las Vegas on March 21 at 3:53 p.m.

Freddie Romero and Jimmy Betancourt are the two suspects arrested in connection with the robbery.

Both suspects face charges of robbery-victim over 60, conspiracy to commit robbery, battery resulting in substantial bodily harm-victim over 60, and battery with the intent to commit robbery.

The following is the story which ran in March regarding the crime.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is searching for two men suspected of robbing and injuring an 85-year-old woman in a parking lot near Rainbow and Spring Valley.

According to a Metro news release, just before 3:55 p.m. on March 21, the victim was knocked to the ground and sustained several injuries.

Both suspects fled the area on BMX style bicycles with the victim’s property. One suspect was last seen heading eastbound on Spring Valley Road, and the other suspect was last seen heading northbound on Dale Road.

One suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, 18 to 25 years old, 5-foot-10 to 6-0, weighing about 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray or tan shirt, black pants, and a black baseball hat. He was riding a black and red, BMX-style bicycle.

The other suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, 18 to 25 years old, 5-8, weighing about 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants. He was riding a black, BMX-style bicycle.
