NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV – An arrest has been made in a double homicide discovered Monday morning near Tropical and Lamb.

North Las Vegas police Officer Chrissie Coon says Darius Davon Sorrells, 30, was charged overnight with two counts of murder in connection with the homicide investigation that began Monday morning in a home on Stibor Street.

A community watch group tells News 3 that Sorrells is the brother and son of the victims, calling him "mentally unstable."

The mother and sister were reported missing last week. Their bodies were found inside their home. One body was reportedly partially dismembered.

Authorities are waiting on the coroner's office to release their identities, but the woman was reported missing Friday by concerned loved ones.

Sorrells wasn't difficult to track down. Coon says he was already in North Las Vegas custody, facing several charges in connection to a high-speed pursuit that took place along Losee Road in the overnight hours this past Saturday.
