LAS VEGAS (KSNV – A woman who wrote a book on the foster care system was one of three people arrested for multiple charges of child abuse and neglect.

Janet Solander, 53, the author of “Foster Care: How to Fix This Corrupted System,” Dwight Solander, 50, and Janet’s adult daughter, Danielle Hinton, 21, were arrested March 20 on 22 counts of child abuse and one count of sexual assault of a child younger than 14.

They are scheduled to appear in court April 8.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrest report details abuse and neglect of the Solanders’ three adopted children who were under their foster care before their adoptions. Clark County Child Protective Services also removed four current foster children from their care.
