Metro police in mourning this week after the death of search and rescue officer David Vanbuskirk. Vanbuskirk was only 36 years old but he touched an incredible amount of lives during that time. News 3’s Sergio Avila is live at Metro headquarters and has been speaking to some of those people.
LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – Funeral services have been set for the Metro officer killed Monday night during a search and rescue mission at Mount Charleston.
The visitation for David Vanbuskirk, 36, will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, Henderson. The funeral will be from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the church.
The committal service is scheduled from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas.
According to the notice at the Palm Mortuary website, Vanbuskirk is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Adriana; his mother, Pat; sister, Jenny; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Red, and brother, Michael.
