LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- The Las Vegas Wranglers hockey team will play next season in the area, according to their team president, but they still haven't made a decision as to where.
The Wranglers were forced to find another home after The Orleans Arena declined in December to continue their lease.
Monday was the deadline for the Wranglers to show the ECHL that they were in serious talks with a new arena.
Team President Billy Johnson wants to thank the fans here in Las Vegas for their support.
"You never really know what a community thinks about you until you are almost dead, and that's kind of where we are,” Johnson said. “We've had people just call us out of nowhere, wanting to help out. And at some point when this is all behind us and we have the problem solved, I'll be able to go into great detail and thank all those people."
Johnson says he expects to finalize a deal with a new arena in about two weeks.
